I used to be Snow White, but I drifted.

:) I used to be a lot of things and now I’m not. It’s funny how much you grow and don’t ever realize it. And now that Terror One is a big twelve years old, I find myself looking at older photos and remembering what a cute kid he was. And man, was he ever cute! I have proof, too:

And I’m excited about my apartment. It has tons of wall space. My personal favorite place to hang photos is in the stairwell and I have one again. :) It’s pretty good stuff, lol. I never would have guessed that there would come a time that I would be thrilled with having a stairwell and wall space!

It was barber time in my house last night. Check out the before and after shots. Not bad for a chick who doesn’t cut hair for a living. :D

It’s all about the wiring

Wednesday, April 11th, 2007
No two kids with autism are exactly alike, but all types of autism share a common trait: “We’re talking about a fundamental difference in wiring,” says Fred Volkmar, M.D., a child psychiatrist and autism researcher at Yale and the author of Healthcare for Children on the Autism Spectrum.

Lost Boys: Autism and My Son is an incredibly good read if you really want to know some of the things we go through with our little Zacky. Hopefully they won’t take this down anytime soon as it is extremely informative and well written. And best of all, it’s coming from a parent’s view point, which you don’t find a lot. Well, at least not a lot that are this eloquent.

1st Chair!

Thursday, February 15th, 2007

My dear oldest son has made 1st Chair with his Tenor Sax! I pretty much forced him to do some sort of artsy activity this year in school and he chose to do band. We’ve had an extremely rough start with him not wanting to put the practice and learning time in. Seriously, by his December concert, he still wasn’t playing. But, there’s been a significant turn around and he’s not top of his section! He is even going to take his instrument home this weekend for the first time. I had to sign my life away yesterday for him but I think it’s worth it. I honestly hope that he continues playing music because it’s really good for you. I mean, doing something artsy or sporty is good for you and he’s not yet a sports type of guy.

:) I’m a proud mom, what can I say?
