A penny saved is a penny earned…

Sunday, July 1st, 2007

I’m finding that there are two things in my world that are currently eating away at what little spending money I have. One is photography props and the other is clothes for the Terrors. Thankfully, with a little bit of scouring these handy online shopping coupons, I’ve found a few ways to help myself out! I caught some Back to Basics deals (I’ve got my eye on 35% off the foam blocks!) and some Old Navy savings (because we all know how much I adore Old Navy!) Seriously, school is only 2 months away and the Terrors are just growing like weeds. I need money saving deals where ever I can get them, so thank goodness for places like Coupon Chief for helping me stretch my bucks!

If I had more money at the moment, I would buy:

Cute old fashioned bath & bubbles
Baby Girl Fairy Wings
And a Million other props I’d love to get my hands on.

Traditional Wedding Photography need not be dead

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Slate has a great article regarding the Defense of Traditional Wedding Photography and I have to say that there’s something to be said for it. I mean, come on. We all love the candids, but there is also room in there for fantastically done shots that are posed. Sometimes I think we forget that there is a good middle ground and you don’t have to go extreme to be noticed as a wedding photographer (or any type of photographer, for that matter). Someday, I might shoot a wedding. For fun at first. You know, shadow someone who’s getting paid for it. In the meantime, I’m just going to continue trying to churn out some awesome photos and not just snapshots. :)

If I ever moved somewhere cold…

I would totally take up knitting. I so love sweaters. And scarves. And hats. And generally all things cuddly that can be made my knitting. As is, I live in Hell and it’s too hot to wear sweaters, even the sleeveless variety. Oh well. Maybe someday, eh? :D

Guess I’ll have to stick to beading and cross stitching. J will be happy to hear that, as he’s spending enough money on my existing crafty hobbies. :D
