Shattered Sun

So happy birthday to you! Today is J’s 29th birthday. He loves cheesecake, so for dinner tonight we went to the The Cheesecake Factory. Good food. Amazing food even. Too much food though. Which is good, because that place isn’t cheap. I was a good girl and I only had half my sandwich and some of the fries. The rest went into a doggie bag. Not sure how well the fries will heat back up, so that might be a good way not to eat them. And, weird as this sounds, there is no children’s menu there. How strange is that? It just doesn’t sound right. It’s like they would have preferred no children there but I can’t tell you how many children I saw. There were a ton! Oh well, for some people, I’m sure that will make them not go back. Why go back to a place that isn’t particularly child friendly even if the food is good? Guess it’s good for date night.

 In other news, is it cheating if I had a gift card there to help cover the cost?  Honestly, without the gift card, I don’t know if we would have gone.  It would have been waaaayyyy too expensive.

I spent the evening working on an idea that just hit me. It’s typically how that works for me. I get an assignment and then have an incredibly tough time implementing it. And then I get this fantastic idea and just have to figure out how to get what’s in my head out.  That’s a tough gig!  :)  Anyway, I did the holiday invites for our company party this year.  Below is the fruit of my labors.  I’m pretty darn thrilled with the results, myself.  What do you think?  (Psst…  Clicking the image will make it larger and much cooler looking!)

Tomorrow is Confederate Memorial Day. I am such a Yank. I had no idea. Worse, according to Wikipedia, it’s celebrated in Texas and I never knew. Guess I’m not much of a Texan or a Southern Girl. Who knew?

Goodbye 2006, Hello 2007!

I don’t know about y’all but I totally made out like a fat bandit this year. Got a ton of cool photography stuff and well, that makes me really happy, lol! Seriously, I should make the list, but I won’t. Needless to say that you’ll probably start seeing more photography posted on my flickr site. I also made the resolution to shoot in RAW format as much as possible. Honestly, I thought it wasn’t a big deal but now I’m seeing the control that you have over the images and I’m shocked that I didn’t make the plunge sooner! Check out my more recent flickr photos and you should notice a difference in the quality of the shots. At least I hope I’m not the only one who sees the improvment! Anyway… Everyone better have had an amazing Christmas this year! Why? Because I said so!
