The Accuweather.com widget is so lovely…

For a while now I’ve been looking for something to show the weather where I live. I don’t mind people knowing my general location (ie, city or state) but the problem I’ve found is simply in finding something nice and easy to use. I don’t currently have the time it takes to implement every single cool weather gadget that’s been written for Wordpress. It sucks but I’ve finally found a suitable substitute! Accuweather has a free customizable widget that will show the weather for anywhere you want (aptly named AccuWeather.com® netWeather v3.0™). I chose the sort of small (but perfect for my sidebar) and summery themed one. Easy to install, too. I simply copy and pasted the code and it worked perfectly. No fidgeting or making a work around to fit it into my theme. I’m also thinking of putting this on my Flickr and Myspace profiles (they offer special coding for Myspace).

And the best part? It’s free and there’s no ads on my site.

If you’re interested (and admit it, you are) you can simply go to netWeather.com and make one for yourself. :D

Random side note: Maybe you could put your talents to use on the accuweather video challenge. Personally, it’s not my bag, baby, but it might be yours! :)

Another random side note: Just noticed that I can get a 15 day weather forecast from my website now. That’s pretty darn handy. :)

This code will easily suffice for Phoenix weather:

Sunny today with a high of <(100 rand(25))>

(ok that doesn’t actually work, but you get the joke I think.)

:D You know that you think of my lovely weather every day. Just think, it’s better than Yuma! ;)
