Fast Forward Please

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

I have decided that I really loathe movies that involve children getting hurt. Even if it’s to tell a story. I don’t want to see it. Last night I was watching A Step Toward Tomorrow and I was happy to have recorded it. I got to speed through the parts that tugged at my heart strings a little too much! I know, I know. I’m a sap. What can I say? And let me tell you, it doesn’t seem to be getting any better with age! :D

There is no excuse for this behavior

Via Darren’s post I learned about something completely scary happening to a well known blogger. I’m not A-list, but if becoming A-list gives you evil thing like death threats, explicit images, and general evilness, then I’m not certain it is worth it. Is it worth fearing for your life? I don’t know if I love blogging enough to blog no matter what. This is the reason why people stop using their real names. I’m just disturbed and saddened by this whole mess. I don’t really care who is doing it. I just don’t think it’s right and if it was happening to me, I would be in the same boat as Kathy.

I invite you to read what I have read and to remember to put a stop to people abusing others and placing it under free speech. However, if you are of a more delicate nature, I do not advise you to read Kathy’s complete post on what has happened to her. It’s nothing overly grotesque but I would not want children to read some of the screen shots she has placed up with the intention of explaining her position.

Abusing others is wrong and remember, words are not merely words. They are weapons that inflict more damage than anything else. ‘Nuff said.

The rise and fall of a little lost puppy

Sunday, March 18th, 2007

Our cute little puppy Korben went for a walk on Tuesday of last week. By himself. I could say I was thrilled that he felt he should enjoy some freedom but like more pet owners, it scared me to bits. Worse, the Terrors had recently given him a bath and accidentally misplaced his collar, so he was out soloing it without his lovely tags on. :( Long story short, after visiting the pound every day, putting up lost posters, putting adds on the wonderfully helpful Pets 911 and ensuring that his microchip information was correct, we found him! At the pound and there was a wonderful sign on his cage that read Hold and Notify Owner. We had brought our paperwork for the microchip with us and viola, he was ours. It was amazing and wonderful and I am so grateful that he’s got that little piece of computer in him. :D I love my puppy.

And for all those pet owners out there, please get your animals chipped. Who knows, it could bring your missing friend home that much faster, too!

Oh, the things I have seen

In the past week I took a four day weekend and rather enjoyed myself. I had dinner with my mother in law on Thursday night, went to see My Chemical Romance on Friday (with all access passes, woot!), spent Saturday with the Most Awesome Carrie and her fam then went to hang with the Most Awesome Rachel and her fam for dinner, and finally, on Sunday, we just chilled at home. No chores. No work. No do this or do that. It was my little mini vacation. :) I need to take more of those, I tell ya. :D How’s everyone else doing?

Keep reading and see some Crappy Cell Phone Videos for your enjoyment. Or non-enjoyment. :D

Reign Over Me

Monday, March 5th, 2007

The most promising movie coming out this month looks to be Reign Over Me with Adam Sandler. Man, can he stretch himself! I can not wait to see it. I don’t think I’m taking the Terrors though. Maybe I can con Rachel into it? Huh? Huh? :D
