Dental Work

Wednesday, February 21st, 2007

I went to the dentist today to get one root canal, two caps, and three cavities filled. Instead I got four cavities filled and three root canals. :P Needless to say I am not feeling the best I could feel. I’m just terribly unhappy that it happened and now I have used up all of my dental insurance and will have to pay for my caps (which I have to get) to the tune of $1772.00. Yes, you read that right. Straight out of my pocket. God help me! I think that’s going to kill me! :( I’ll have to figure something out because I can’t leave two very expensive root canals uncovered. Isn’t that just asking for trouble? :(

Scales, weights, and icky drinks

I have totally enjoyed the most recent episode of RockStartup. Cutely titled Can’t Hardly Weight, it focuses on Ted’s efforts to get the office in gear for a weight loss regimen. I love the idea of the whole office getting involved with each other and not being afraid to share their weights and goals. Man, I tell you, around my office they’d have a field day with that information and I don’t mean in a good way!

Anyway, I think I keep watching because Britt and Veronique have sucked me in. Those two just get me in giggles and remind me so much of my friends. I just love how honest they are and so lovely to look at. I gotta admit, looks are a plus. ;) I’m not sure I’d go the diet route that they’re trying but I can’t wait to see the before and after photos next to each other. Should be really nice if they stick to it! :)

Personally, I think this is the best episode yet. (And currently the only reality show that’s in my iTunes.) So, view it and enjoy. :)

Oh, and this post happens to be sponsored by PPP. The good people there wanted to know how the viewer might want the show improved, so here’s my response: I really enjoy the show now that’s there seems to be more interaction and fun stuff going on. Seeing everyone’s sense of humor showing through is a real plus. If I had to change anything, I think it would be less “talk to the camera” and more “fly on the wall” type items. But that’s really just me, I’d love to be that fly on the wall. ;) Otherwise the balance is good and getting better with each episode.

It’s like sweet pillow talk

When someone tells me that they support the right to go to school without killing yourself for the finances, I stop and listen. I listen for both myself and my children. I have previously written about the rising cost of tuition at ASU and to find that the new Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is someone in my corner on this issue. Well, at least she is when she speaks. Politicians are always a bit like salespeople and therefore you can’t really trust their words. And yet, I hope that she’ll follow through. Raising the amount of money received from the Pell Grant would be wonderful. I’m not totally sure I even qualify for it but it would do a million underprivileged individuals a lot of good. It would give many the chance to go to high education and not have the high loan costs that come with it. Well, not as high, anyway.

Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed and hope that they’ll continue to go down this path. I’d like to be able to afford for my children to go to college (or what-have-you), thank you very much.

If I lived in Cali, I think I’d totally vote for this chick. ;)
