Just in time…

Did you forget to get those Valentines Day cards off in the mail? Well, this might be your chance to send something so that at least the person isn’t totally missing out on your love. :D egreetings has a ton of free, funny Valentine’s Day eCards that you could choose from. My personal favorite is Cupid’s Pick-up Lines. It totally looks like something Darren or J would send to me! LOL! Here’s a little teaser image, you know you want to click it to see the card! ;)

Anyway, I am not a huge fan of eCards but this site is pretty good! I really think my mom would love it and the price is really nice, too. She can sign up for a 30 day trial period and if she really likes it, it’s only $13.99 for a year. That’s like the price of four paper cards and she always forgets to send paper cards. Plus, she’d dig how easy and quick it is to navigate around the site and the editing of the cards is a breeze. I can send a card out in less than five minutes, start to finish, (including watching the cool preview for a card). It is a really lovely site. :D Oh, and did I mention that you can pre-date cards? Totally awesome. You could do an entire year at once and then just sit back and enjoy the compliments for not forgetting someone’s birthday!

Anyway, I’m off to send silly eCards! :)

Shadow Tag?

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

In Arizona, we’re seeing a growing number of schools that are choosing to get rid of contact playground games like tag. I find this ridiculous. At what point do we stop overprotecting our children from each other? Are they really vicious little monsters like the schools make them out to be? I mean, come on. Isn’t it a part of growing up to run around and get scratched up a little? From our local paper, here’s a list of some of the banned games:

A growing number of contact sports are banned at some schools, including: * Dodge ball. * Tackle football. * Tag and other chase games. * Wall ball, where kids line up against a wall and other children try to tag them out by hitting them with a ball.

I can remember playing tag and thinking it was unfair because I wasn’t the fastest runner. So I learned to run faster. I remember playing dodge ball and getting hit hurt a wee bit. So I learned how to bend & weave & be flexible.

I could go on and on about how much I learned from getting hurt a little. The world isn’t fair and there is no better place to learn that than from your peers on the playground. Heaven knows that we aren’t raising many unique thinkers these days and I don’t think the coddling is going to help them any. :P

Someday I’ll escape!

Because, really, all the cool kids were doing it. ;) Click the image to view large, it’s much more humorous that way. :D

Someday!

What are you as an M&M?

Review my posts?

Tuesday, February 13th, 2007

By now, loyal readers, you’ve probably seen a few of my posts about the ad network that is PayPerPost. I’ll admit that I might spout off about my love of PPP but I try not to be in your face. After all, I want you to come back and read my blog once in a while. ;) So, in that route, I’ve gone with the sidebar affiliate button. You know, it’s there if you want to use it and if you don’t, it doesn’t feel bad. :D This really has been working out fine and dandy but now PPP has come out with a new program that I’m not totally certain if I want to embrace yet.

Basically, it’s a button like this one at the end of every post:

And when I say every post, I mean every post that I write. Not just the ones that are supported by PPP. The idea sounds nice. It’s a great way to boost people who will sign up. People just love to write opinions (hence, blogs) and if given the opportunity to rate someone or something, we’re all going to take it. The question really comes down to whether I can take having people critique my writing. I’m still thinking about giving it a shot though. Kind of a test period to see how well I like it. I do love the interface inside PPP since I can see who reviews what posts. And it is nice to get the feedback, even if someone might not be nice about it. ;) In the meantime, I’ll also be asking the people I know who have already been using these handy dandy review buttons to see what they think of them.

Oh, and if you feel inclined to review this post, please click the review button above. Bonus to reviewers: $7.50. Not a bad way to start off a PPP account!
