Computerized Food Service

Wednesday, February 28th, 2007

We’re sitting at Carl’s Jr. and they have computerized cashiers now. So, you put in what you want on the touch screen and swipe your card. Absolutely no human interaction. I think that sucks. Just thought I’d share.

BlogCode.com

It sounds like a coding you’d just put on your site, right? But it’s not! In reality, it is a site dedicated to getting user input to sort out a social network (of sorts) to organize blogs into similar groups. It’s not that they’re all writing about the same subjects or with a completely similar tones. It’s really about finding ones that are similar enough that you might enjoy them. For example, I write lots of personal stuff. You could go to my Blog Recommendations page and the system tells you what other blogs you might enjoy. On the other hand, this works with participation. So, if you would like more accurate results, go code my blog (it’s three simple pages) and viola, the results change ever so slightly. :)

It’s a great idea that deserves more press. I’m going to be going through and coding at least one blog a day for the month of March. I might do more, we’ll have to see. :)

How fitting is this?

Mr. Dreyfuss, you are so awesome.

Girl Scout Cookies & Mr. Holland’s Opus

Sunday, February 25th, 2007
  1. Never diet during birthdays, holidays, or Girl Scout Cookie Season.
  2. Dieting during these times will no doubt cause you pain and anger that you can’t stick to your diet.
  3. I am so addicted to GS Cookies.
  4. Mr. Holland’s Opus is not at all what I expected. It came out the year my oldest Terror was born and I always meant to watch it. I’m currently in the middle of it but somehow, it has already caught me off guard. It might just become one of my new favorite movies.
  5. I have a wonderful time yesterday with Rachel. It really was a blast, even with its bumps.
  6. My mouth still hurts. Someone shoot me please. With some Novocaine, that is. ;)

Not created equal

Thursday, February 22nd, 2007

Not all blog ad networks are created equally. At least not for the small blogger, like me. I find that PPP works the best for me because I only have a Google rank of four. There are some pretty awesome rates for those people who have a high Google ranking. Someday I’ll get there but I’d honestly have to put a lot more effort into marketing my site in order to make it go up in Google ranking. But it is something to strive for! If my site had a Google ranking of eight, I’d qualify for a $1,000 opp! Could you just imagine making $1k from one posting? That would rock!

I’ve mentioned before how much I really enjoy PPP and the opportunities that it offers for me. It’s extra money and thankfully, they’re only taking a 35% service fee versus the normal 100% markup. That has to help me out in the end. I would have to believe that a lower service charge is going to bring more people to their service and thus more money making opportunities to me! And you, if you will/have joined. ;)

Oh, and if you didn’t know… PPP requires disclosure from all posties, so while you’ll make some moola, you’ll also be letting people know that you’re doing it. ;) Honesty is definitely a plus in this biz!
