Forgot your keys? Try your finger…

I’m all for fancy gadgets and gizmos, but I’m beginning to wonder where we’re going with all this biometrics stuff. Let’s see, we’ve got laptops that remember your passwords but you have to swipe you finger across a reader to verify that you’re you. And now we’re seeing keyless door locks being installed. It’s interesting but I’m not sure it’s for me. Don’t get me wrong, I really love the idea of not having to worry about keys or passwords or what-have-you. My only worry is that we’re a step away from installing microchips into our bodies and thus become completely trackable by the government. Yeah, I know, that’s kind of conspiracy theorist of me but there it is.

Honestly, it probably is safer to have everything encoded via biometrics. I mean, you can’t really pick a lock if it’s not just a key lock, right? I wonder how it works with multiple people though. I mean, for us, we’d have to have it coded for four people at least. Either way, I don’t think I’ll be installing this on the house though. I think I prefer to be a bit old fashioned. Now, J, I think he’d dig these things. He’s really into the whole high tech thing and gadgets are definitely something he enjoys. I can envision him installing them and then playing with them for a good long while, lol! I guess we’ll have to duel it out and see who wins. :) Anyone care to cast a vote on if we should think of installing these?

Oh yeah, high-tech gadgets are men’s best friend! If I had a family of my own, I’d definitely install these.
