It’s like an evil Meow Mix commercial…
Monday, November 6th, 2006I have cats. I love them both dearly but sometimes they just drive me insane. What prompts this sudden exposure of something that’s not really a secret? My younger cat loves to look outside. Usually he’s stuck looking through windows because we really do live in a furnace here. But recently it’s been cooling to a mere 85ish degrees and we’ve been opening the front door in the evening. Dear little Smokey then gets to sit in total ecstasy staring out said door. The only downfall is that now he complains when it’s not open.
Here’s a typical evening: Me cooking dinner in the kitchen, Smokey sitting on the floor by the fridge meowing pitifully at me. Me helping the Terrors with homework, Smokey on the couch meowing loudly enough to be heard. Me sitting at the computer, Smokey sitting by the front door and meowing (it’s really more like howling) and pawing at the door.
You get the idea. I really should tape him with my phone the next time he starts up just so you can hear him. It is amazing how loud and long he can hold a meow without taking a breath! And if I open the door, he immediately makes a cat loaf, stops meowing and starts purring.
