Christmas Savings

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

I never knew there was a site just for online coupon codes. I’m currently in the market for a new laptop and I love Dell products. Ironically, there’s a coupon code for a Dell Laptop right there! That particular laptop isn’t everything I’d hope for in a laptop, but I bet it would work out for the price. You know me and shopping, I love a good deal! :D I’m also partial to Target so the deals on that page might come in handy. Target has just about everything, ya know. ;)

Seriously though, I am loving this site. A lot of the discount codes I find online aren’t worth looking at but this one appears to have some that I’d actually be able to use this year. And Mom, I think this place is just the place for you since you’re the Coupon Queen!

I’m being haunted by Teletubbies

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

My adorable nephew is having a birthday tomorrow. I have yet to buy him a gift, but that’s because nobody carries Teletubbies items and that’s all he wants. So instead I’m going to continue my ebay search and see where that gets me. I figure I’ve got Christmas coming up soon, too. And dang it, shopping for a wee toddler is not as much fun as I wish it was! It’s pretty tough when you want to be the Cool Aunt! And I really want to be the Cool Aunt, lol!

Anyhow, I wish there was some place local that carried Teletubbies. I never realized they’d gone so far out of fashion, as it were. Ugh.

Forgot your keys? Try your finger…

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

I’m all for fancy gadgets and gizmos, but I’m beginning to wonder where we’re going with all this biometrics stuff. Let’s see, we’ve got laptops that remember your passwords but you have to swipe you finger across a reader to verify that you’re you. And now we’re seeing keyless door locks being installed. It’s interesting but I’m not sure it’s for me. Don’t get me wrong, I really love the idea of not having to worry about keys or passwords or what-have-you. My only worry is that we’re a step away from installing microchips into our bodies and thus become completely trackable by the government. Yeah, I know, that’s kind of conspiracy theorist of me but there it is.

Honestly, it probably is safer to have everything encoded via biometrics. I mean, you can’t really pick a lock if it’s not just a key lock, right? I wonder how it works with multiple people though. I mean, for us, we’d have to have it coded for four people at least. Either way, I don’t think I’ll be installing this on the house though. I think I prefer to be a bit old fashioned. Now, J, I think he’d dig these things. He’s really into the whole high tech thing and gadgets are definitely something he enjoys. I can envision him installing them and then playing with them for a good long while, lol! I guess we’ll have to duel it out and see who wins. :) Anyone care to cast a vote on if we should think of installing these?

I’m not committed

Thursday, November 30th, 2006

I probably should be more committed. I was reading this post about commitment and realized that my commitment comes and goes. I was probably never a sports player for this reason. Being fit is not something I’m committed to. I mean, I’m committed to be healthy but not being “perfect”. I’m committed to living a long life and therefore do the obvious things like take my vitamins, see the doctor, drink plenty of water, etc, etc. You know, all that stuff the docs tell you to do. However, it’s exercise where I get the problems. I have yet to find an exercise where I can keep going at it day after day without a care. Nothing appeals to me in that way. :( I would love to be able to find something that I enjoyed but so far, nada. When we buy the house, I’d like to get a treadmill or eliptical machine and then I could watch my few TV shows and exercise at the same time. Now there would be a way to pass the time. As it stands, I do stretching and stuff like that while watching TV.

Anyone got any exercises that they think I might find interesting?

Oh, random side note: I kept hearing about “spinning” classes and figured that maybe they were people spinning in circles on the floor or something. Once I looked it up, I realized they were basically riding a stationary bike. LOL.

The Catfeesh!

OMG, this is a funny video! It is freaky what people will put on the internet. I don’t think I’m brave enough to make my own Catfish video. I mean, it’s great to laugh at others but I’m not sure I want others laughing at me! LOL. That’s kind of mean, isn’t it? :) Anyway, I found this at PayPerPost, which just goes to show that they can’t be completely about the cash. I’m willing to bet that if they can keep goofing things like this going on, then they’ll continue to draw not only people to be advertisers for them but also fans. Maybe you’re brave enough to create your own video? At least you can earn some cash by doing one!
