I’ve got good news…
…and I’ve got bad news.
Good news is that I got complimented for doing my job well at work. And not by the people I work with but by the customers. That’s worth a lot to me.
Bad news is that Sam went to the emergency room because he took one of Joey’s pills by mistake. Then he took one of his pills but didn’t tell anyone because he thought he’d get into trouble. Then he went to school and pretty much slept for 4 hours before the school bothered to call me at work. Then I get there to get him to the ER and the nurse reams me for 10 minutes about how I’m a crummy parent because I should’ve had Joey’s pill container way out of reach and not on my desk. Then I get to the ER, go through four IVs before one holds, an EKG, heart monitoring, blood pressure monitoring, and a phone that just won’t work inside. Then I finally get done and realize that I am completely beat to death.
Special thanks (of course) goes to Rachel & Darren for being so wonderful and picking up Zacky after school while all this was going on. They definitely went above and beyond. And tomorrow, I get to do the whole work thing while watching Sam. It should be interesting. I’m not a big fan of taking children into the work place, but I don’t feel comfortable leaving him at home and there’s no way I’ll find a baby sitter for it. So off to work we go!
And on that note, I’m going to bed.

Well im glad that there where no real bad side effects from him taking one of Joey’s pills, some people forget that people are human and mistakes do happen, but what are you supposed to do stand there when they are taking their pills and making them feel stupid and worthless by you having to watch them, i doubt that Sam likes taking the tablets anyway, but to harrass you at the ER that is just stupid, the nurse thinking that you are like some other parents that dont care at all, which i can see that you do..

How scary. I’m glad he is ok. I can’t believe the school would wait so long to call you! That horrible! And then to get chewed out in the emergency room, when you’re waiting on them to make sure your son is ok….My goodness, I’m so sorry the people who should no better were treating you and your son so terribly.

Oh, and I’m sorry, I forgot to comment on your first half of the message. That is really cool to be getting compliments from customers at work. Hope they said it kinda loud and with a superviser in hearing range, lol.

His school should have gotten the lecture, not you.
