Is this thing on?

Thursday, July 28th, 2005

I’ve finally gotten back in the groove of converting and finishing the daunting task of setting up themes for Rachel’s site. It’s quite an undertaking, but here goes nothing. Want to watch my progress? Check out my WP Test Site. It should be good for a laugh if nothing else. :) And Rachel, see, I’m thinking of ya! ;)

Get the blood pumping

Wednesday, July 27th, 2005

Yeah, that’s what I’m trying to do in the morning. Seems I don’t enjoy exercising after a full day nor do I enjoy the triple digit temps in the afternoon. So, I’m doing my good old Tae Bo tapes from Billy Banks. Yes, you saw that correctly. I said tapes. I got them back in 1999 or something like that. I love the series and really should do the new Billy’s Boot Camp. Eventually. When I want to spend more money on the goal of losing weight. As if I don’t spend enough right now. Well, I guess I don’t. This stuff is definitely cheaper than liposuction or other plastic surgery. Okay, time to go shower and get ready for the world. Y’all have a good day now, ya hear?

Willy Wonka, Willy Wonka

Sunday, July 24th, 2005

Wow, great movie. I wasn’t so sure about taking the kids out to see the New and Improved Willy Wonka because I wasn’t a real big fan of the original Gene Wilder vehicle. Why? Because I think it’s just a bit creepy with the dude running around meeting children in the dark of night. And I really greatly dislike the tunnel scene from the original. The new Burton/Depp version is much more fun for children, IMHO. Of course, Jayson thought that Depp’s Wonka acted an awful lot like Jacko. Seems he’s not the only one.

So, other than a movie, we also picked up some games. I grabbed The Urbz because I enjoyed the Gameboy version and hoped it would be different from the PC Sims. And it is! It’s very enjoyable. Unique and not so staid. It’s reminds me more of a RPG hybrid than a Sims game.

And the hot water returns

Thursday, July 21st, 2005

Thankfully I woke up this morning to a nice wonderful hot shower. And I tell you, I am so grateful that it did return. Today was the HR Paperwork from Hell day. I went through and sorted all our HR paperwork so that it was up to date and ready to go for any new hires. It was a mess. And I wasn’t thrilled to spend my whole day doing that. Most of you haven’t seen my desk, but there’s not a whole terrible lot of room and well, I covered every available inch of it with papers. I would’ve done it in the conference room except then who would do the rest of my job? On days like today, it makes me wish that I had someone around to help me out. Just a little minion that I could call every once in a while to lend a hand. Thankfully the evening went well and the children have gone to bed. Once they’re out, maybe I can get some sleep, too. I’m beat…

I have no hot water

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

Seriously, none. And when I say none, I don’t mean you turn it on and it’s cold. I mean, you turn the hot water on and nothing at all comes out. I have plenty of cold water though. Which sucks. Which means I’m taking cold showers in the mornings right now. And worse, there’s no ETA on when it’s getting fixed. Which sucks, too. Which means I am not going to be thrilled tomorrow at work. Oh well. At least I can ramble on my website and everyone loves me anyhow. :D
