Shattered Sun

And I mean it! We have a wood stove here and it always smells so good. And when I light my orange candle in the bedroom, it’s almost a perfect woodsy orangey mixture. I know, that’s funky. You know what else I love to smell? Fresh cut grass. The best smell out there. Of course, there’s also snow, rain, arizona monsoons, and fresh baked anything.

Got a scent?

I’ve taken a liking to the horses that my mother-in-law has. One is hers, two are her boyfriend’s and the fourth is one they’re boarding for a friend. All four have the most unique personalities and attitudes. I have a preference for Skipper because she’s a rescue horse and therefore has a lot of patience for someone like me who hasn’t been riding very long. But, Budmizer has the nicest combination of attitude and love. He’s just a riot. I think I’d almost like to get a horse if I could believe that I could afford it. Jayson wants a horse and ofcourse, the boys are country kids at heart. I guess I’m the only city girl in my family. But you know… Maybe horses could bring me out to the country and keep me there. It’s definitely something I didn’t think could happen. I’ve done the whole country living thing. It’s not all it’s cracked up to be. But, maybe it’ll grow on me now. I’m willing to give it a chance to see what happens.

I am really pushing myself to get site work done. There is so much to get done on all levels. It’s just crazy, I tell ya! Plus, while the new theme system for Wordpress is rock awesome, it’s very time consuming to redo CSS and such to match from the old system. Not to say it can’t be done, but I can see how it might frustrate people. I’m getting started on learning that tonight. It’s on the agenda, anyhow.

In other news, I have finally come up with a logo, font, and color scheme for my business site. So, it will no longer be hidden away and should be up and running within the next 24 hours. All in all, I’m doing well with the paper side also. I even have business cards printed! (And they are spiffy looking, if I do say so, lol!)

Okay, okay, enough about me. How is everyone else doing today?

I’ve upgraded and of course, now need to upgrade all my “styles” to the new and improved “theme” system. I think that might take a while! I have all week to work on it though. Well, at least a week. I might be able to get a lot of web work done this week since I won’t have a job nor children on most days. This all just might work… Who knew the prospects could look so good? Anyway, that’s what’s up with the site. After I finish perfecting my upgrading for this site, then I’ll be moving on to Rachel’s site. It’s a lot of themes to flesh out! See y’all on the flip side!

And I won’t have a job. After having an office job for so long, I don’t know what I’m going to do with my time. I’d like to restart my design business, but I’m afraid that I won’t be able to jump back in and get clients. I miss being with my children. I wish I could telecommute, but that’s not likely to happen either. Anyone have suggestions for me? If there’s any interest in hiring me for web/graphic design purposes, let me know! I’m always game to give it a shot again.
