The Databases are Happy now!

Sunday, November 7th, 2004

Okay, I moved the old posts to the new host. Figured out how to renamed database tables and get everyone talking and happy again. While interesting and definitely a learning experience, it wasn’t something I was in the mood for. But it’s done and next time I need to help someone move databases and make them work, I’ll know how. I also started using Coppermine for my photo gallery. I got tired of looking for a blog software to do what I wanted. And found Coppermine via my host and just love it. :) I think it has everything I’ve ever been looking for in a gallery package. Easy to operate, too. Very idiot friendly.

Anyway, not everything is in it’s place cosmetically, but it’s functionally working, and I suppose that’s something I should be happy with. Now to get the site looking more like Cinderella instead of one of the Ugly Step Sisters.

The Incredibles!

Saturday, November 6th, 2004

Dude, go see The Incredibles! Funny movie. Very well written and drawn. There were places that I thought the story was a bit slow, but really, it has a lot of slapstick humor in it. The terrors loved it, too. We went last night since we wanted to take Zack out before his surgery. It’s something interesting and fun that he could do since he’s not supposed to bopping his head around much for three weeks. Three weeks! I still can’t believe that’s how long the recovery time will be. That’s another tangent though. Go see the movie. I think everyone can find something in it that they enjoy.

Conferences

Friday, November 5th, 2004

Interesting enough, both of my terrors “forgot” to give me the confirmation letters regarding their teacher conferences. I ended up rescheduling both conferences for today and I’m not certain that the terrors were too thrilled with that. I don’t know why, because they are both doing well. Sam needs to stop sabotaging himself when it comes to schoolwork and Zack needs to learn his letters better. Neither has behavior problems, both are adored by their teachers, and both are well liked by their peers. Sam needs to bring his grades up, but I bet they’d go up a lot more if he would give his homework a shot AND turn it in. I sit down with him every night and do his homework with him. Then he doesn’t turn it in. Talk about defeating yourself. I think he’s his own worse enemy sometimes. We’re trying to work on helping him with that. We’ve tried everything we can to get him to stop defeating himself and now we’re going to ask his psychiatrist for help. No, I don’t mean drugs. I’m thinking he might need some therapy or something. Maybe he’s bottling things up too much or something. I don’t know anymore. I want to help him, but we’ve tried every avenue and can’t seem to reach him.

I have things to post about

Monday, November 1st, 2004

But my host keeps having issues with PHP and you know what, I’m switching hosting. I’m tired of this. I should be able to post whenever I want without having to worry about the PHP working. Bah, irritating. I’ll keep y’all posted. I’m so tired of this site not working. It’s more stress than relaxation!
