Ugh! IE is so irritating!

Thursday, May 13th, 2004

:censor: Or maybe it’s just me. I don’t know what’s going on, but IE and AOL both make my photographs look pixelated and sorta fuzzy. But in Firefox they’re crystal clear. Anyone know why that might be? I’d hate to have my photos looking icky if you’re using IE or AOL. Ugh… :irked:

Are you ready for the flood?

With the new pricing structure from MovableType, I’m expecting an influx of Wordpress users. On the business side of things, it could be a great move, but let’s be serious. This is the internet where everyone wants something for free. Not only that, but they want the best they can get for nothing. WP was already making an interesting racing opponent and now I can see that it’ll most likely take the lead. We’ll have to see where it goes, but the backlash against MT right now isn’t pretty. I wouldn’t want to be on the receiving end of it, that’s for sure. :???:

Zack is a sickie again…

I think he has another ear infection. I wish that we could get his left ear to stop having all these problems. We can’t even keep the infection under control enough to have a surgery. I think they’ll have to go up another level on his antibiotics this time and I just hate giving him such strong drugs. I want his body to be able to fight infections, but it seems almost impossible. Oh well, guess I’m up early enough and should just start working on stuff. :( Poor kid… :fever:

Interviews, Rachel, and Mother’s Day

Tuesday, May 11th, 2004

All wrapped into one post! :b-woot: Seriously though, happy belated mother’s day to all the moms out there! Particularly my mom, who has been putting up with me being a  for most of my life. :) I put out eight resumes a week and a half ago and I’m still dealing with interviews from it. To be honest, I’d really like the last job that I interviewed for and I made it to the final review, so we’ll see. I have my fingers crossed for it! I do still have the temp job and so it’s nice to know that I have a job even if I don’t get any of these permanent ones.

Rachel is also here, for those that don’t read her journal. She’s just as lively in person as on the web, so if you get a chance to meet her, jump on it. It, not her! :b-lol: It’s been fun helping her and Darren with the job and rent searches here. I think that they really love it here in Arizona. It is a gigantic change from Alaska but I think it’s the stress level that has made them so happy. I’d have to say that if I was leaving their situation, I’d be less stressed, too!

Oh, check out the lovely new skins and let me know what you think of them. And if you find some that look funky, please send me a screenie! That would be uber helpful. :) Til later!

More than a little lost…

It would rock my world if someone would sale me bottled time because I’m telling ya, it sucks right now. There just isn’t enough time in this world to get everything done. I hereby promise that I will indeed be going through blogs/journals this weekend and spending much time perusing the past entries of my favorite blogs. I would start it right now but if I did, I’d be online forever today and that doesn’t work with the kiddos being home. I swear that every two minutes I’m hearing my name coming from wherever they’re playing. It would be wonderful if they could just get along, but that’s not really happening today. I feel like the police! :cop::b-argh:

In other news, I went on three interviews this week for administrative assistant positions. I have another one set up for Monday. I have a temp job that starts on May 17th and goes through mid September, but I would like something more permanent. I’m still going to be starting the hosting and continue designing, but I’m going to split the duties with Jason. I would like to focus on getting my carrier in a more traditional step, since that makes it more reliable. I hate trying to manage my money between freelance jobs. I’d rather do some freelance on the side and maintain a parttime or fulltime job somewhere else. I’m a money hog! :pig::b-oink:

Guess we’ll wait and see but I’m not going to put any more apps in til this temp job is over since she’s going on maternity leave and it would suck to leave her high and dry like that. And I’m going to San Diego in July! :b-woot: Gotta save some cash for that, definitely. See y’all laters!
