Shattered Sun

I spent this weekend away from the computer and not by choice, lol. I was busy helping the roomies work on the backyard since they bought this house officially. We put an above ground pool in yesterday, dug a hole for the pond and started doing the brick patio. The brick patio is sort of an extension on the existing one, but it’s being done by hand with 4 by 4 by 2 brinks. Tons of fun, I tell you!

Today we got up early and headed to Home Dept. We bought a bunch of flowers and I planted them around the pond and in some planters that are staying in the back. It’s really pretty, lots of color going on. Rach, I think you’ll love them when you see them this summer, if the heat doesn’t wilt them to nothing, lol. And we did more of the patio. I’m going to continue working on the patio this week. We have brick walls and are extending the patio completely around the pool and leaving enough area to have a grill, table and chairs, and maybe a bar. We don’t have nearly enough bricks yet, but we’ll buy them as we go. I did realize tonight that it would be nice to own a house just so I could do nice little projects like that. You can’t do stuff like that when you rent and besides, why would you want to if it’s not yours to keep? So I told Jason that we should buy a house so that I could do my weekend projects and he could have his big ol’ dog. I’m happy! I finally found a reason to own rather than rent, lol!

I’m off to bed, I think. I’ll be on early in the morning to do some work for Trish, Rach, my mom, and Sunnycat. And I have to finish the BS for DT. I’ll be on AIM most of the day, if anyone wants to chatter with me (hint, hint).
