Her father said what!?

“Jessica is sexy in a T-shirt or sexy in a bikini; you really can’t stop her from being sexy, because that’s who she is.”

– JOE SIMPSON, father and manager of reality TV star JESSICA SIMPSON, in Blender magazine.

Thank goodness my father never described me as sexy. I dunno. I never want to think that my dad thinks I’m sexy. That’s just gross. Ick!

Love is in the Air

Ah, Valentines Day. It’s the one day of the year that is supposed to be more romantic than any other. It’s almost that special day and the mood is definitely in full swing. I don’t think that the surprise same sex marriages were romantic, but damn, bet the couples are estatic. Kudos to San Fran for going against the stupidity of the laws and allowing couples to get married. I find it appalling that so many groups are already denouncing the marriages as frauds and all. It’s not really right. These people have just as much of a chance as “traditional” marriages, what’s America’s problem with it? Besides that, they stay together anyhow! Why not let them have something official? My mom isn’t “officially” married but she might as well be. She’s been with the same man for 15 years (at least). Most homosexual couples are the same way. Congrats to all of them that had the chance to make it official yesterday and to those that will be doing it today!

From inspiration to design

Thursday, February 12th, 2004

I would love to take all the cool ideas that I come up with or my friends come up with or my family comes up with or my dog cat comes up with and make them happen. But I can’t. Why? Because I am a perfectionist and if something just isn’t working for me, I get frustrated. I might vent but to be honest (ask Jason), I rarely yell or scream or throw a fit related to the computer or designing. I do, however, have many ideas jotted down, designs drawn on paper, and photos cut to pieces (digitally). It’s lots of half done designs that I just can’t seem to bring from inspiration to design. Someone remind me that I should stop being a perfectionist and just go with the flow of these things and get them finished. (more…)

Everyone’s got something to hide

The web goes through phases and recently the trend has been to private post. I don’t private post. On the other hand, I’ve got no real need to. There are just things I don’t talk about on this site. Why? Because I talk to my mom, best friends, hubby, etc about them. And to be frank, I don’t need some random person coming on here and deciding how I should behave. It’s my site, it’s my life. On the other hand, as I had to point out to my hubby, I do not choose to post a ton of information about him and my terrors. It’s not because they aren’t a huge part of my life, it’s because they are. They’re my everything and I don’t want things to come back later to haunt them or me. I don’t mind using their first names or talking about things as they happen, I just don’t think that everything that happens should be up for public consumption. Obviously, I made this choice before I started keeping an online site eight years ago. Others are making that very choice right now. How many blogs have you seen that have gone to password protecting part or all of their site? Or the ones who have gone incognito on a new site. I can’t keep track of the number I have run across or know of. The internet makes people forget the safety zones that we have in public. At least humans are consistant and bring our safety zones full force into every aspect of our lives at some point.
