First surgeries are scary stuff

Thursday, February 19th, 2004

I often joke that I’m the “nurse” for my family and friends because when someone gets sick or has a sick baby, they usually ask me what I suggest. Most of the time I have answers from my short experience as a mother. I should clarify that my experience is a bit different since my children were both preemies, but it is still fairly short in time. ;) Anyway, today I got an unknown boost from the hubby when we went to his doctor’s appt. We had to set up a surgery for him and weren’t even sure how serious it would be. Apperantly the recover is serious enough that they usually have a nurse come out to check the dressings. Jason told the doctor that we didn’t need the nurse because he knew I could handle it and take care of him. :D In the end, we did decide to have the nurse come out at least once just so that I make sure I’m doing the dressing properly, but it was a boost to know that he puts so much faith into me. Progress Report

Wednesday, February 18th, 2004

Yep, the midterm progress report came home today for Sam and for once, he was thrilled to pieces! It’s the first time this year that his spelling grade isn’t an F. He’s been tougher on himself than anyone else. We’ve done all we can to help him out, but sadly, spelling isn’t his strong suit. All his grades are just awesome on this report. :)

Fingerprints

When I design, I tend to attempt the shorthand methods of CSS which means that I use margin: 2px 4px 1px 3px; instead of writing each margin out. Of course, to prevent confusion (in myself), I tend to use my monitor to remember the order. So if you ever walk in my house and find me touching my monitor in the order of top-right-bottom-left, you’ll know why!

(And I hope that I’m not the only one who does odd stuff like that, lol!)

Knotted Ring of Gold

Tuesday, February 17th, 2004

The rings done by Loren Damewood are just mesmorizing. Simplistic and beautiful, they speak volumns for a lost art. Every ring is perfect imperfection, which is a uniqueness that I find thrilling. I would love to be one of the proud owners of some of his Matched Sets. Everyone is always looking for that unique wedding band, and I think these truly fit the bill.

If you aren’t wanting rings, he also makes nacklaces, bracelets, and earrings. Just breath taking work. If anyone’s interested, I really want the first ring on this page. It’s only $837 for a size six. Not that I’m certain I wear a size six, but that’s got to be the smallest I am, lol. ;)

On a side note, I’d love to redesign his site from tables to CSS. I think it would really showcase his work more. Maybe I can do it as a test project and if I like it, send it to him, lol. :)

Blah Blah Blah

Sunday, February 15th, 2004

Man, it’s just one of those days. I don’t want to do anything in particular and I don’t want to do nothing either. So I’m randomly going through the day trying to get little things done. I think what threw me off was that I usually do laundry on Sundays and I did it yesterday instead. So there isn’t anything on my “list” to get done today. I do have plenty to do, they just aren’t on the list of things that have to be done. :)

In other news, I am all caught up on my site reads and current events. And I finally have everything in place for going to school in the fall. Woot! Who knew going back to school would be so much of a pain? It’ll be worth it, I think… ;)
