Shattered Sun

I go to pick up Sam today and start chatting with Ms. Jackson, the school principal. The number of children who are out sick is just crazy! Monday saw 80 missing, Tuesday 90 absent, and today had 60 sick. That’s not counting those that go to school no matter what. They could be dying and would still show up at school. And teachers are out, too! Thank goodness it was a long weekend and that Friday is a day off. Sounds like everyone needs it.

On a side note, every single person in my house is ill. Well, sorta. The terrors and I are getting over it, finally. But we got everyone else infected with the flu. Don’t catch it this year, it’s horrible!

I’m back! Feeling much better, no more sinusitis. I am just finishing up the lovely antibiotics! Thank you everyone who wished me well! I could feel your positive thoughts. And I hope that all of you are in the holiday spirit and ready for 2004. Can you believe that it’s almost here already!? Where exactly did 2003 go?

Oh well, at least we get to celebrate the new year, eh? Speaking of the new year, my youngest baby will be the big 5 years old in about a month. It hit me today that he’s going to be in Kindergarten next year! How’s that for time passing? It’s just amazing that he was a little baby such a short time ago…

1. Do you like to shop? Why or why not? I’m not a fan of shopping. I like to go, buy what I need, go home. I just don’t get the people who can spend hours window shopping. I dunno, I’m just the anti-girl in that respect.

2. What was the last thing you purchased? A domain for my mom for her birthday.

3. Do you prefer shopping online or at an actual store? Why? Ooooo, it’s a toss up. No, wait, I’d have to say that I prefer an actual store because I’m impatient and like to have something NOW.

4. Did you get an allowance as a child? How much was it? I never got an allowance as a child and my children don’t yet either. Not to say they won’t, they might when they get older. It hasn’t come up in the discussion yet.

5. What was the last thing you regret purchasing? Hhhhhhmmmm… Off hand I can’t think of anything that I regret purchasing. Is that a bad thing?

Thanksgiving T4T 1. On this Thanksgiving, what will you be giving thanks for? I’m giving thanks for my wonderful family, friends, and loved ones, because they are the ones that make life worth living. I’m just full of love this year and I am soooo blessed.

1. Do you go for the turkey or the ham? What’s your ideal Thanksgiving Day plate? Both, I am such a sucker for good food. Ideally, I have a slice of white turkey meat, some cranberry sauce (whole berries, when possible), mashed taters and gravy, corn on the cob, biscuits, and some ham (if it’s around). I am a pig!
