Illegal Immigrants

I know we have a government here in Arizona. Usually, I like what they’re doing. But we have a big issue with illegal immigrants getting jobs that they shouldn’t be allowed to get. And even though it’s against the law to hire them, people still do it and the government isn’t helping. Too many illegal immigrants hanging out on well known “pick up strips”? No problem! We’ll just create a job center for them to sit in. And no one seems to think that this is promoting the problem of illegal immigrants. Even the lovely Tribune is writing about this fiasco that we call enforcement.

Somehow, I thought that with the Wal-mart bust last month, we’d have gotten tougher, not weaker. Sure, terrorists are a problem in this world. I’m all for the police force being used to help curb the threat, but I want the police force to also be there for other things. This is a huge issue for Arizona. By our government’s inaction, we are harming ourselves economically. Sometimes, the bottom line should not be profit. Sometimes, it should be the uplifting of our citizens.

Although im the most politically declined person anybody knows, I would have to agree with that. I have nothing against immigrants, but illegal ones I do. They steal the jobs that the legal immigrants could have.

We have a major law enforcement problem here as well. Many people drive 55 in a 35 here, particularly in front of the school by my house. I have personally witnessed 1 child being hit and killed by a car. Where I came from 20 over the limit would not be a ticket - you would loose your right to drive. And in a school zone, the cops would likely kick your ass after handcuffing you - and say you resisted arrest. Now I don’t advocate police brutality at all - but in this state enforcement is such a joke that anything goes. Including American jobs to illegal immigrants. And don’t even get me started on Wal-mart. That fucking business is doing more to destroy the country than Bush himself. Hell, it makes perfect sense to me - Wal-mart, hire illegal immigrants for less than minimum wage, allowing Wal-mart to drive everyone else out of business because they can not compete with their pricing because of their innovative ability to “keep” costs down via government subsidized employee programs, hiring illegal immigrants - and forcing suppliers to have everything made off shore to further take advantage of “cheap” labor. And the average brain fucking dead american shops there anyhow - because “it’s cheaper”.

I think it’s a problem in every state; therefore, something’s gotta be done federally. In another word, Bush gotta go. I’d vote for Senator John Edwards.

Im not comletely sure what they do with the illegal imigrants that come into Australia, but with seeing what i see of TV, how mexico is so close and how people get sent back, but they dont care they will keep trying till they get to stay in America, one man was saying he was in his 40’s was married with 3 children and he had to get to America and he would keep trying till he made it.
In Australia the immigrants that come into this country are put into immigration compounds and kept there till they find if the person has a reason to stay or go back, eg political problems.
But it can take 3-4 years for any of this to happen, the compounds are in many parts of Australia, the immigrants try to break down the fences and some lawyers say that what we are doing is wrong, that we should set all the people free to walk around Australia and let them do what they want.
It seems there is no real answer to this quandry as whatever is done is wrong

I do believe it is wrong to hire illigals (yes I am backtracking into last months posts LOL) but look at a lot of the computer jobs “out there”. They are no longer out there. No they are going to India.
It is cheaper to re-route phones calls (Dell, HP, Gateway, even Microsoft all do this, they had a huge writeup in I believe it was Time Magazines in October) then hire people right here in the United States. Sucks since my husband is in the IT field.

Sorry just another vent. It isn’t illigal but it stinks!

Don’t worry about the backtracking. I purposely leave comments open so that people can comment if they find it later on. And yes, outsourcing to India is a major problem. As with hiring illegal immigrants, it’s another solution that companies have come up with in order to better their bottom line. I don’t think they care that it’s killing America’s economy.

I believe that a citizen that is well prepared and took the time to educate himself or herself should not worry about the illigal immigrants. Like a true American, I educated myself and earned a bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. I do not think I am competing with immigrants with for a job, they cannot compete with me. I speak english, I belong here, I have all the advantages. Immigrants are cheap labor, they pick the fruit and vegies we have in our table. We should stop blaming our problems on people who are trying to support their families honestly. No human being is illegal.
