Weekly Wrapup #72
Are you addicted to the Internet? Why or why not? If so, how? While definitely not addicted, I do do most everything I can on it. I love the convience factor of the internet and the ability to communicate with anyone anywhere. I can live without it and have before, but it’s more of a case of why bother? (I guess that’s when you know you’re addicted. When you can’t live without it, eh?)
What aspect of the Internet do you find most appealing? Why? I absolutely love the fact that I can talk to my friends anywhere and let them see photos and hear news and basically stay up to date with me. It’s so easy and simple and wonderful and well… I’m lazy. So anything that makes my life easier, I’m loving. Hehe…
What Internet features (i.e., sites, blogs, email, chat, etc.) do you participate in the most? I’d say I participate in boards, websites, and games the most. The boards are usually related to something in particular that I feel like commenting or keeping up to date on. The websites for mostly the same reason, but add to that the fact that some of them are incredibly interesting.
As for games, that’s my relaxation. I really love playing my Asheron’s Call and my Utopia accounts. Fun fun fun.
How did you get started online? At what point did you realize that you were hooked? It’s all Damon’s fault! The brat started me on the internet when I was 17 and it’s been downhill ever since.
To be honest, he was very influential in me realizing my potential for design and other internet related activities and I’m grateful for that. And I knew I was hooked when I would go home after school and want to read my email before anything else! I lived for my email back then. To a certain degree, I still do.
What is the longest amount of time you’ve gone without using the Internet? 5 Months. Unless you want to count the years before I started using it regularly. Hehe… I think that it’s not only ok to give up the internet for bits, but also healthy for a person. Too many people never get up from behind their computers and are missing out on the regular interactions that are our life.
