Weekly Wrapup #70
Just a bit late this week! And I’ve been so good lately with being on time! :hornshalo:
- How would you describe blogging to someone who didn’t know what it was? Blogging is essentially an online journal. It’s the new age website. What used to be boring “Look at my dog” sites, are now typically Blogs. Blogs are much more informational and fun than those traditional sites were. And they’re ever changing.
Do you automatically reciprocate and add people to your blogroll when you see that someone new is reading your blog? Why or why not? When and why would you not automatically add someone’s blog? First off, I do not automatically add someone to my links. It’s not about not being nice, but seriously, if I don’t read them and/or don’t like the content on their site enough to want to link to them, then I’m not going to. I don’t feel obligated because they’re reading my site or because they link to me. People who usually make it onto my links are either people I know personally, have some reason to read their site (ie, good places for MT information), or just some random people that I enjoy interacting with. It happens! lol! I learned long ago that it’s not important the amount of links going to and from a site but rather the quality of the individuals that are visiting it.
Do you publicize your blogroll? Why or why not? I do not publicize my blogroll. It’s there for me, mainly. If you choose to visit the sites on it, woot! If not, no harm done. And I don’t bother doing the “link to me” stuff because if I’m worth it, you’ll link to me. If you are so lazy that you can’t take the extra two minutes to do it the long way, then don’t worry about it. :frog:
What attracts you to a particular blog or blogger? What doesn’t? I love honesty. That’s got to be the biggest attraction when it comes to reading a blog. Humor is a wonderful bonus, but it’s always the simple honest day to day stuff that keeps me coming back. As for what I’m not attracted to, that’s pretty simple. I don’t care for those that have to pat themselves on the back all the time. People will pay you compliments, you don’t have to do it yourself. And I really don’t like people who only talk about porn or what not. If I want porn, I’ll visit a porn site. I don’t need people to constantly post about.
Recommend a new blog read — and tell us why you recommend this blogger. Life’s not fair, is it? is a great blog for people to read. Ashley is fresh, funny, sometimes sad, sometimes happy, always honest. And his photography is amazing. I can only hope to achieve the shots he does some day. You couldn’t ask for a more well rounded individual in my book. :amk4:
