*stalk* & *lurk*

Friday, August 1st, 2003

For those that haven’t been in the loop on these two terms, here ya go:

stalk - Originally started as a joke between Mal & I. It has its baby beginnings in the thread from the IHG boards. Now we use it when we want someone to read what we’ve written. I stalk him and he stalks me. :) It’s simple and silly.

lurk - Is a Tri specific term. :) He likes to read and not comment. Soooooo… I started using the term lurk with him. I originally posted it on my Zonkboard because I knew he’d see it. Of course, since he made a response, I guess that’s not really lurking anymore. :) (more…)

Weekly Wrapup #65

Friday, August 1st, 2003
  1. Have you ever taken a break from blogging? Why? I have taken numerous breaks from my website. I have even taken breaks from my online journal, but only because it was easier to write everything down on paper than type it in on the keyboard. But I have almost always maintained a journal in some form.

  2. How long was your break, if at all? If you didn’t take a break, how much time is enough for a break, either as a blogger or as a blogging reader? The most recent break I took was about 4 months. That was probably too long for a break, but I wasn’t really interested and I find that restarting a website requires my interest or I have no fun. I don’t want it to feel like a chore. But really, who is it that designates how much is enough or too long? I think it’s unfair for a reader to get upset when other things in a writer’s life take up more time than the journal. That’s the way life works. Get used to it. (more…)

Friday Five

Friday, August 1st, 2003
  1. What time do you wake up on weekday mornings? My schedule has been all funky recently! But it really depends. If I have my terrors with me, it’s up by 9. If I have to work, it’s up an hour before I have to be there. And if I have no darn good reason and stayed up all night, then it’s at noon. :D

  2. Do you sleep in on the weekends? How late? See above. My weekends don’t necessarily happen on the weekend. :) But really, if there’s no reason for me to get up and I don’t have work/terrors, then I’m in bed til whenever the fancy strikes me to get out of bed. (more…)
