Friday Five
What were your favorite childhood stories? Stories as a collection would be the Narnia series.
What books from your childhood would you like to share with [your] children? I’d love to share so so many! On the list are The True Story of the Three Little Pigs, Aesop’s Fables, Little House on the Prairie (series), Narnia (series), and Where the Wild Things Are.
Have you re-read any of those childhood stories and been surprised by anything? Reread them, yes. Been surprised, no. I guess I didn’t miss much the first million times I read them as a child.
How old were you when you first learned to read? To be honest, I can’t remember. I would venture a guess at 4 or 5 years old.
Do you remember the first ‘grown-up’ book you read? How old were you? I remember reading The Screwtape Letters when I was 12. I consider it the first grownup book I had ever read, other than the bible.
