Born Before Their Time

Wednesday, June 18th, 2003

As some people know, my terrors were both born very early. Sam was born at 29 weeks and Zack at 28 weeks, which is basically having no 3rd trimester. They were tiny little ones, but both weighed a good amount for their ages. Sam was 3 lbs 4 oz and Zack was 2 lbs 10 oz. Seeing them now, you’d never know they were preemies, which is saying something for medical science. I was blessed to have them alive & well and with little problems but it wasn’t without some strife. With both of them, they spent their first 2 months of life in the NICU and under constant care. I can’t really describe everything that goes on and the bonding you do with the nurses, doctors, and other parents. But, Discovery Health is running a Baby Week this week and is showing an awesome show that shows what I experienced. So, if you happen to be into this kind of thing, check out Born Before Their Time and catch a glimpse. It’s such a wonderous world.

This or That?

  1. Newspapers or magazines? Magazines
  2. Books-on-tape or regular books? Both, on tape for driving trips, regular books for at home (relaxation baby!)
  3. Paperback or hardcover? hardcover last longer, but if I’m buying them for a quick read, paperback works
  4. Fiction or non-fiction? Fiction! Nice to escape from reality sometimes
  5. Sci-Fi/Fantasy or romance novels? Sci-Fi all the way (see my 100 things) (more…)

Two for Tuesday

A day late and a dollar short. Sorry guys, was really busy yesterday! ;)

  1. What’s the most recent thing/event/occassion that you have forgotten — that you really should have remembered? It’s always birthdays! Doesn’t really matter who it is, I always forget. Well, except for my two terrors, but those are required.

  2. How do you remember significant dates? Do you mark them on a calendar, use Outlook’s calendar, have a great memory? Some are easy for me to remember, but for the most part, I use a calendar in some form. Recently, I got a new cell phone and so I just use the calendar that’s built into it. Before that I used a calendar that I hung on the wall but it always looked so tacky because I was writing all over it. ;)
