Endometriosis

I’m not really thrilled with the news that my doctor has given me. I went in on Tuesday to get checked out and well, he tells me that I have Endometriosis. For those that don’t know what that is, check out www.endometriosis.org for more information. Needless to say that I’m going to go in for a scope (read: surgery) and worse case scenerio is that I’ll have a hysterectomy. It’s pretty serious to have the thought of having a hysterectomy done at 24 years old. I’m not sure if I’m ready to face that yet. :(

I think having children can be poisonous to the relationship, because they draw every bit of energy from both parents.

Well, I guess you have to find a guy who doesn’t like children. On the bright side, you don’t have to go through a painful labors. And if you have hysterectomy, it means no cramps and mood swings. No “accidents,” either. Oh, and I guess the best part is that you won’t have to worry about pregnancy.

Practice safe sex, though… so many STDs out there these days. ;)

Well, there are a few things that this doesn’t effect, I guess. I already have two children and I’ve been sterile since I was 20 years old. :) I worry more about the fact that if they do a complete hysterectomy I will go through menopause about 30 years early. Yucky! But thanks for helping me look for bright spots!

That’s true, but I doubt menopause will hit you that early even if you go through the hysterectomy. I mean, you are still young; maybe in a few years. Oh well, that’s life.

Well, with a complete hysterectomy you lose everything, and most (if not all) or the female hormones come from the ovaries. :( Hence, menopause. But it’s all good, I can always take hormone pills. Oh yippee…
