Skinning, Part 1

Tuesday, December 31st, 2002

So, I’ve decided that it would be very cool to skin the site. I always enjoy the ability to choose my own theme on other sites and well, since I was thinking of changing my theme, I’d thought that others might want to have a choice, too. (Man, I ramble sometimes!)

Step 1 :: Finding a tutorial. I started with the Domesticat one, since everyone pointed to her site for help. (more…)

Looky! A picture Jason took

Tuesday, December 31st, 2002

It’s old but we had to put it up. We found this cool site, Picture Yourself, that features pictures you’ve taken of yourself. Mainly the cool, arm outstretched kind. :D Jason posted my all time favorite photo of us together. Post your own photos and let me know, I love photos. :: sigh :: :)

Inner Circle Syndrome. Many of my favorite reads are talking about it and being a possible psych major, I wanted to comment also. I think that the web is great in many ways because we have flawless beauty. Everyone is beautiful on the internet. Beyond that, you have a chance for people to look beyond your physical appearance and see the wit in your witty comments. :) Too many of us on bringing the very issues we detest about our early years of schooling with us in our websites. Why do we strive to be popular in the world? We can’t all be popular and I’m not sure that it matters all that much. It’s nice to be loved and read, but I find that most popular people are not trying to be. They just naturally have people gravitate to them. So I hope that everyone strives to be different in 2003. Clone Baby

Sunday, December 29th, 2002

This just scares me. The fact that a clone baby was born, if indeed Eve is a clone, is just amazing and yet sickening. Have we progressed so far into science that we are willing to denounce our mothers in favor of cloning? What’s next, searching for perfect humans? Movies like to play off the humor of clones (Multiplicity comes to mind) and yet others warn what will happen if we get to extreme and let science rule our lives. The same can be said for numerous books and even from “experts”. I’m all for cloning stem cells if that means that more people will be saved, but cloning a complete child seems a little insane.
