Asheron’s Call 2

Friday, November 22nd, 2002

I love Asheron’s Call because it’s a really thought out game and keeps changing every month. That makes it worth the ten bucks every month. I even like it with the lack of gore and extreme content. Asheron’s Call has a Teen rating (with and without the Dark Majesty expansion). That means that you could trust a 13 year old to play this without having to worry about dementing his mind. I find it intriguing that Asheron’s Call 2 is not considered much more than eye candy by most players I know and it comes with a Mature rating. So they’re saying that you should be 17 years old to play a computer game. Does anyone else find this a bit messed up? Is it a selling point to put an M on it? I must live in my own little world. I think that there are plenty of games out there that are M rated and not nearly enough that aren’t. :(

Screwy Television

Friday, November 22nd, 2002

What’s the deal with American values? No one has a problem with women being at the beach in thong bikins, but when you put a lingerie show on the air, everyone swoops in and becomes righteous. I mean, lingerie covers the same places that a bikini does and everyone’s still getting uptight about it. I just don’t understand the difference. Plus, it was aired on regular TV, so there’s a heck of a lot more censures at work. My other problem with this is that we have violence all over television and I would think that we’d worry more about that polluting the minds of our young with that. Parents should take active positions in their children’s lives instead of just making a ruckus. If you don’t like something that’s on the air, don’t watch it and don’t let your kids watch it. If your kids do watch something you don’t approve of, by all means, talk to them about it. Children aren’t stupid. Use the energy you’re using for your fit somewhere more useful, like maybe your local PTA! It would be time better spent, that’s for certain.

Turkey Day without the Turkey?

I have nothing against vegetarians. Really. I don’t understand them, but that’s a whole different story. ;) Anyway, I love to cook, and I thought that I’d share this nice little article about Turkeyless Turkey Day. The recipes do look yummy! :D
